It is said that:
"Music soothes the savage beast" -Almeria in the play Mourning Bride
"Where words fail, music speaks." - Hans Christian Andersen
"I will sing of steadfast love and justice; to you, O LORD, I will make music" - Psalm 101:1
Music is a part of life. It's in stores, restaurants, your home, phone and car. Music is everywhere and can help and encourage or stir up and entice. Movies have truly proven that a sound track can make or break a scene. We all at times, especially teenage girls, have used music to sooth a heartache and drown our hurts. Music can help us rally for or against a cause. It can unite or divide. Music can help settle a baby for sleep or get them to dance their wiggles out. We all have those mix tapes from years past or playlists of today for working out, crying out our sorrows or stirring up the butterflies of a new love. Where would we be without music? Life would be a dull, quiet existence.
I am grateful for music so according to Psalm 100 let's:
"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing."
and let's not forget the admonition of Journey:
"Don't stop believin', Hold on to that feelin'."
